I was eight years old as i was reading my first Sherlock Holmes story. That was "The Speckled Band". And my god i was scared. I could not sleep because i was hearing odd sounds like whistle and i was seeing something like a specled band. I wanted to cry "Snake!" but i was eight years old and i thought to be a big boy and the big boys don't cry and so i was keeping calm, trembling, shaking and swearing never to read any Sherlock Holmes stories. But next day i read the second story, "The Red-headed League" and the next and so on...
Today i'm a really big boy and my own kids don't fear a snake in the dark(they have got their Harry Potter books) but i like Holmes still and love to read the A.C.Doyle books and watch the movies. And that gallery is my tribute to a great hero of my childhood, Mr. Sherlock Holmes...
